THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED LIST OF COOL INTERNET BROS

an anon reminded me that I wanted to do this last week but then I got sidetracked or something and forgot again

anyway, if you’re not on this list it doesn’t mean I don’t like you! I feel like I shouldn’t even have to clarify on that but yeah these are people who have made my days better in some significant way, people I’ve talked to at least somewhat extensively, people I would be delighted to know in real life, etc etc

also not in any real order although it should be roughly chronological

I met emma (or minty as I still tend to call her) probably…oh man, over 4 years ago? it was on a warrior cats roleplay site, which is painfully embarrassing to admit, but that was like the highlight of my life when I was 13 or whatever. it’s all a blur. anyway, emma is genuinely one of the most warm-hearted people I’ve ever talked to, and has always been concerned and willing to listen to whatever stupid nonsense I might want to rant about. she’s also incredibly compassionate about animals and volunteers in shelters all the time and is taking a ridiculous amount of science classes (I don’t know how the scottish education system works) to prepare for vet school which I find really admirable because there was a time when that was what I wanted to do as well. basically she’s lovely and full of cute scottish lingo and understands my cyncism and I sincerely hope we keep in touch for years to come.

I’m not sure exactly when I met ben but once upon a time I was really active on deviantart and actually had a small following of people who would regularly comment on things, and back then there was this strange japanese guy who always left the zaniest comments and we’d banter back and forth about loads of dumb stuff like pokemon and nintendo in general. eventually he revealed that he was actually a british dude living in japan, and made a tumblr, and…I don’t remember how it happened really, but pretty soon we were talking more frequently and having in-depth discussions about video games and living in japan and talking over mic while he bumblefucked around playing ocarina of time. he also puts me in my place whenever I’m being a huge asshole, which I really appreciate because I tend to do that a lot. oh, and he has an adorable asian friend named anko who for whatever reason just thinks I’m the bee’s knees and appreciates the same dorky things we do. they really make a dynamic duo and I couldn’t possibly mention one without the other.

brendon is hands-down my most talented internet friend and not a day goes by that I’m not totally in awe of his photography, ambition in taking on a 365 project, and just general aptitude in doing what he enjoys. he’s also probably the one that comes closest to matching my wit, and we manage to have sarcastic conversations parodying basically anything under the sun. we also share a passion for shiba inus and making fun of dumbasses (two things that are obviously very important to me). it’s annoying that time zones prevent us from talking a lot except on breaks and sometimes weekends, but he’s a really awesome guy and I’m definitely glad that I know him. we also have chat sessions with hayden sometimes that are really ridiculous and tend to get out of hand quickly but yeah I also really like hayden and his blog and his music taste and we should probably talk more often. (hint hint, hint hint??)

alex, of all the people on this list, is probably the one I relate to most often because she’s just so magnificently amusing (I actually haven’t read her blog in a while and I’m doing so right now and WOW I LOVE ALL OF THESE POSTS) and we share a lot of ~common dilemmas~ (read: art school, boys, social anxieties). she also has a lovely sense of humor and I find her very easy to talk to and yeah she’s just great. and her art style is the bomb.

chenoa oh man chenoa is just a delightful individual and IT’S PROBABLY WEIRD THAT I GUSH ABOUT HER SO MUCH but she’s just so sweet and down to earth and wonderfully talented at art! and I don’t think I’ve ever actually had a lengthy conversation with her but I would seriously love to hang out with her and her sister and just chatter about pokemon and ponies and homestuck forever and ever. and she always gives me the most precious giftart and dang I am just going to stop before my undying affection gets out of control

emma (this one is from tennessee) is the youngest person on here (little babby freshman) but that’s probably why I like her so much, is because she’s so knowledgeable and articulate for her age?? like I remember how I was as a freshman and oh god I needed to be euthanized or something because I had the most obnoxious temperament and constantly caused arguments and said lots of ignorant things. but yeah emma is basically everything that I wasn’t. including super talented at art (you’re probably noticing a theme). and ah it’s pretty weird that I’ll be nearly done with college by the time she graduates from high school but I am completely faithful that she’s going to continue to be more awesome than I was at each successive age.

amanda and helen are also really wonderful but I don’t think I know enough about them to type up whole paragraphs! I basically still love everything they do though.

and yeah I guess that’s pretty much it. thank you for making the utterly insane amount of time I waste on the internet a little better.
