tomorrow is graduation

wow

I’m kind of curious to see whether I’ll get all sentimental and teary-eyed or if it won’t faze me at all. I know these ceremonies are so obnoxiously long and over the top and probably a little corny, but at the same time it’s like wow, this thing that’s encompassed almost all my experiences and relationships in the past 4 years is finally ending. that’s so surreal. it’s not necessarily any fondness I have for the high school environment, it’s all the little routines and rituals and encounters with people that totally defined my life for a long time, just being yanked out like a rug from under my feet. this is like one of the only surefire times in your life that you’re FORCED to make a drastic change in your lifestyle, and it’s just really…odd. I’m totally ready to move on, but it’s startling how quickly high school just slipped through our fingers.

also this week has been insane; I had two job interviews!! we’ll see what comes of that. I don’t feel overwhelmingly good or bad about either of them but at least my odds have been doubled? I really hope I finally get a stroke of luck, I am exhausted of talking about everything to do with job hunting :( senior banquet was last night but my friends and I skipped out halfway through because the hypnotist act was terrible. then we all spent the night at allison’s and made a 1am candy run to wal-mart and watched hey arnold and chattered until 5 in the morning and it was pretty fun ~just being girls~ (even though everyone thinks they can’t talk about boys around me which is hilarious)

my life could be pretty darn good this summer but it’s all hanging on a complicated string of ‘maybes’ and it’s making me all antsy ahh

1. actual-fish said: Yeah it’s sweet, no one thinks they can talk about boys around me too! But yeah, graduation doesn’t really feel that important to me. I’ll probably freak out about not seeing you guys on a daily basis around halfway through summer.

3. mometa said: dude congrats! i had my graduation bout 2 weeks ago and i didn’t see a single person cry, not even my mom cried, it was weird everyone was happy! but yeah it’s still huge & a bit scary. GJ on the interviews as well!!!! (hypnotist… WEIRD….)
